This Monitor stands out in every way, it's not huge to the point where I cannot fit my console and cup of tea on my desk, it's not so small I have to get my prescription upped to play on it. (Or the clarity on Animal Crossing really is enhanced with my Samsung Monitor too) Nonetheless, winning is a must when you game online, correct? Side by Side Samsung Takes 1st I reside in a gaming household, well I call it that, so does my brother. Currently, this has turned into a disappointment after so much greatness. But considering that my monitor is outside of the 12 month warranty, I am not sure how this will pan out. I have reached out to customer service and so far they've been responsive. Every now and then it will briefly return to normal. Finally, after 3 months, the dim spot has become permanent. But, a quick power cycle would fix it annoying but tolerable. Im assuming this is one of the backlight LED's going out. The main reason for the 3 stars is, while the monitor HAS been great, after about 18 months of ownership i would get an intermitted dim spot in the monitor. The jog button left a little to be desired, but it wasnt a deal breaker. I had this paired with my Xbox Series X and my work laptop. Curvature, picture quality, etc was all great. In terms of performance in gaming - the G7 27'' is great. Torn: Great monitor but failed early I bought this monitor to serve as my work-from-home monitor while doing double duty for gaming at night. Note to self: Steer clear of the screens with "borderless" bezels since the glue will not hold up and probably just avoid Samsung monitors for gaming all together since it won't even hold up for a full year. This monitor has not moved since it was installed and the room has A/C since there is a powerful hot gaming PC in the room as well. By the time I have finally had time to sit down and look at the issue, of course I am 3 months out of warranty and Samsung can care less that you just paid $600 for a monitor a year ago, and they want almost a quarter of that $215+ for a repair, that is clearly a defect. I have gently pushed it back but non the less the glue won't stick and the screen just starts to separate at the top. The fact that it has a USB to connect but nothing ever seems to care and if I try to check for updates it says there is no USB so there is that.Īfter I have had this Monitor for about 6-8 months I noticed the top of the screen started to come apart and I could see the light of the screen coming from where the bezel should be. A few gripes I have about the monitor.the button layout sucks, toggles for monitors just shouldn't be a thing. Purchased this monitor after friends recommended Samsung and I have had Samsung phones for the last 13 years and love them. Great graphics, poor build quality It has been a little over a year since I purchased, and out of warranty and out of support. ![]()
