![]() ![]() This is a game to be enjoyed by everyone, and the last thing I wanted to do was create division within the fanbase," reads the post. "I let the backers down, I let our amazing Discord moderating team down by putting them into an impossible situation, and I let our fans down. While the statement does not disavow Arch in particular, it also does not mention him by name. Instead of leading the team with competency, I let conflicting messages, posts and statements appear on our communication channels." The statement leaves out how the studio ended up collaborating with such a controversial figure. I am not a PR expert (as evidenced by Saturday’s events) I'm just a regular old software guy who sailed into some very uncharted waters! As a result I made multiple mistakes with communication and take full personal responsibility for the incompetency. ![]() Following the publishing of the video, things got out of hand. Aww, that's nice.Posting on Subverse's Kickstarter page, a developer named Tibor provided a summary without addressing the controversy in any specific terms: "We just finished some neat gameplay and wanted to show it off on Youtube. There will also be space combat and turn-based ground skirmishes, as well as "cuddling", according to the devs. ![]() ![]() It's a fully-fledged PC gaming experience in which you'll be able to recruit lots of waifus, all of whom you can, er, "romance". As you can imagine, this isn't one for the faint of heart or the sex-negative. Subverse is a lewd adult RPG developed by StudioFOW, who describe themselves as "degenerate neckbeards" and "filthy apex perverts". Still, we might get to learn more about them in the upcoming dev diary that's been promised for November 17th. Both of these things were promised in the previous dev diary, so it's a bit of a shame they're absent here. There are, however, two things that are conspicuous by their absence: any kind of time frame for Subverse 0.9 and 1.0, and an update on the state of the Subverse roadmap. It's worth checking out the full Q&A for more changes, as Tibor details other features coming to Subverse like Chinese language support, cinematic subtitles, and replayable missions, among other things. Thanks to Eggraptor for preserving this lady's dignity. When the space combat gets dull, Subverse has plenty of waifus to romance. Again, this is earmarked for Subverse 1.0, so you might have to wait a little while for more news about that. He says the team is looking to introduce difficulty levels for the space combat, as some users have said it's too easy and others have claimed it's too hard (insert "hard" joke here). If you're reading about this extremely NSFW sexy space RPG and wondering how the combat is faring, don't worry, as Tibor provides some updates in that regard as well. What about Subverse combat? What do we know about that? Despite this, Tibor says there will be some free camera control elements present in Subverse 1.0. Essentially, it necessitates far more animations being created than the studio's relatively small number of devs can realistically take on. These improvements will include new outfits, more sound variation in sex scenes, and "fluid system improvements" (we'll let you make your mind up as to what that means). When it comes to sex scenes, Tibor also goes into a little detail regarding StudioFOW's decision not to implement free camera control across the board. Tibor also says that Subverse's Pandora hub is getting some improvements for the 1.0 release. You might need to get your mind out of the gutter for just a moment to enjoy Subverse's turn-based combat. ![]()
